Amazingly this radio worked right away, except for the broken dial string and a power cord that needs to be replaced soon. It is AM broadcast band and one Shortwave band.

I can install a new cord if the new owner wants me to. I picked up a RCA Victor 66X2 Radio from 1946-47. but still works with no breaks of the inner wire. The grille cloth was replaced.GREAT TO EXCELLENT USED VINTAGE CONDITION: TESTED AND WORKING ! As with all older radios it may take a few seconds to warm up. This radio was owned by a friend for its entire life. Brass parts were polished and new reproduction decals were placed under the controls. Some spots with missing veneer were fixed. The paint was stripped off and the cabinet was refinished. RCA Victor models 67 v1, 67av1 AC operated combination radio and automatic phono two band super heterodyne radio with self-contained loop antenna and automatic tuning. This radio had been painted by the previous owner in green latex paint in an effort to “antique” it. Plain bakelite 66X1 (this auction), ivory painted bakelite 66X2, two wooden versions 66X3 and 66X4, and two catalin versions 66X8 (red swirled) and 66X9 (black swirled), nick-named 'Monolith' or the 'Tunaboat', that are said to be the largest catalin radios ever made. The radio features broadcast (AM), short wave and medium wave bands. RCA Victor's 1946 radio with model number 66X came out in several versions, all using the same chassis RC 1038. This very radio may have broadcast Orson Welle’s famous “War of the Worlds” presentation in 1939! It also featured the innovative “Magic Eye” with its “electronic ‘beam’.which looks much like a human eye and tells when you are precisely in tune”. This popular model featured the “Magic Brain” which offered “a new thrill in home radio-’Studio Tone’!
